Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: F3/5 Surf / Sea State: Bumpy Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: cloudy Max Speed: prob 25kt Distance Covered:
Weather a little too cloudy but warm. Wind was fresh and all out planning
at 10.30. Met up with Maker ex Dip sailor now sailing in Wales. Maker went
out on 6.2 loan kit and was planning well, so started rigging 6.7 but wind
drop, so set up North E type 7.3. The sail is a little heavy but good
quality. Several sailors were out planning, not planning, changing up and
general swopping around.
Still experimenting with Goya Carrera Pro 130L. This is a very nice board,
and being so light it feels skittish and lively. Mast foot position now
seem to be between front and mid, just keeping the nose from burying on the
broad reaches. The board gybes quite wide, but am using 44 fins instead of
stock 42cm. This board is quick, when flat, out so I should be able to keep
off Swainey boy. Didn't particularly liked the 7.3 on it, 6.7 was much
easier to sail. Maker went flying by me on my gear despite me warning no to
past me, but pick on someone else! used him as guinea pig to find the best
line of the board, chasing him when fully pumped up. The sea was big near
the river and was well happy going thru it without drama several times,
looking for flat water to gybe. Fully recommend the Goya 130 Pro full
Carbon board, handled the rough water brilliantly. Pretty knackered when
the wind started dying around 2/3 ish. Wind was a bit less than Sat. No GPS
readings cos GT31 has water on the screen, so hoping it dries out. Nice day
all-round catching up with Maker and co.
